Matthew had a full day today... it started with Jonathan taking him to Waffle House for breakfast (a tradition of ours). Matthew ate so much that he didn't need lunch later! After breakfast they worked on Matthew's pinewood derby project for his Awana program. They also had fun putting together one of Matthew's birthday presents, a Lego airplane.
In the evening we went to the Schwartz's house for a Cinco De Mayo party. They were very kind and allowed us to bring birthday cake for Matthew. I made a mini-cake for Matthew and then a full sheet cake to share with the group. Here is he blowing out his candles:
Jonathan and I wore our 2 year-old Cinco De Mayo T-shirts from 2005. We tried to get Matthew to wear his, but it's a little big on him and he was self conscious about it. He's growing up so fast-- already SEVEN years old, and starting to have fashion concerns!
The Schwartz's took this shot of us before we left the party. We had a great time (even though Colson was unhappy at that moment)!
