Jonathan's parents and brother arrived from North Carolina, moments after we returned from church. We all were thrilled to see them, but the boys went into super-sonic overdrive! Colson kept crawling under Grandma Sissy, through her legs!
I made up a quick hearty meal for the group-- meatloaf patties, green beans, toast, and mashed potatoes with pureed cauliflower mixed in (thanks Jessica Seinfeld!). Then we had some of those triple chocolate/double peanut chunk cookies. Yum! Oh, and while I cooked everyone watched Elmo's Christmas Countdown, which was videotaped from last night's TV broadcast.
After dinner we read from The Jesse Tree and the book of Isaiah. Matthew put out cookies and egg nog for Santa and eagerly climbed in his TOP bunk. He's excited that Uncle Chris is going to come in later and join him on the lower bunk. Sleepover!
As I type this Jonathan is over at the Flight Safety dorm/hotel suite getting his parents all settled in. He even went over there earlier today to decorate it for Christmas! As for me, I still have just a few presents to wrap and lots of dishes to do!
Below are picks from today's activities.
Colson's 3rd Christmas Eve service, but it was the first time that he got to hold a candle. He was fascinated!
Our Christmas stocking area. We don't have a fireplace with a mantle or space for a real tree, but we make do!
