This Sunday is the first Sunday in months that we are truly going to enjoy a rest day. It was so nice to go to church, not worry about the service running long and head home for a day of leisure!
The morning started with our Sunday School class having a potluck Christmas breakfast. While it's not a favorite dish of mine, Egg Nog Bread Pudding is something Jonathan enjoys, so I made a batch for him. And of course our classmates had lots of yummy dishes to share with us.
In the worship service Matthew performed in the children's choir, singing "We Believe". Below is a silent film of his group. Matthew is all the way to the right side of the pan, wearing a red polo and navy pants. We were so proud!
After church we had lunch and some well-enjoyed nap time. Then I got back in the kitchen and made another Christmas cookie recipe. These were made on behalf of Jonathan, who is our resident peanut butter fan. They turned out GREAT, and were so yummy. Here's the link:

We also enjoyed watching our teams win: Wake Forest men's soccer won the national championship, the Panthers and the Jaguars won, and FINALLY the Dolphins got the first win of the season!
And as I type this at 7pm, Jonathan is reading Christmas stories to the boys. Such a nice day!
